The best arcades to play with one hand on a crowded train

Half my mobile gaming happens standing up, holding a rail, phone in one hand. That rules out a surprising number of games that assume you've got two free thumbs and a table.

Cobble Tumble is my go-to here. One tap to drop, and the pace is entirely yours — you can pause mentally between moves without anything punishing you. Pip & Plummet works too, since it only needs one thumb sliding side to side.

The trick is looking for games with a single input axis. The moment a game wants swipes plus taps plus tilt, it stops being commute-friendly. I've abandoned genuinely good games purely because I couldn't play them standing up.

One warning: avoid anything with aggressive between-run ads on a spotty connection. Nothing kills a two-stop window like a video ad that won't load. Offline-friendly arcades are worth seeking out for exactly this reason.
